What a Delight!
Hartzell House is currently offering the outstanding pastel, oil, and watercolor artwork of Brenda Cook. Brenda received a B.A. with Honors in Philosophy from The Johns Hopkins University and a J.D. from The University of Maryland School of Law, and has studied at the graduate level in German Philosophy, German language and literature, and Art History. While in Italy writing a novel on the Italian Baroque painter, Caravaggio, she worked on a project involving the historical layers of the city of Rome.
Brenda began painting at an early age, mostly in oil, but in the last few years has been working predominantly in pastel. She taught graphic design, art history, and painting, both oil and pastel, at Villa Julie College in Baltimore, Maryland for nineteen years. She now resides in the beautiful countryside near Addison, Pennsylvania, and continues to devote herself to her art.
